ipod

ipod classic

ipod is a wonderful portable media player. It is a known fact.
It is also a wonderful productivity tool in hand.
Lets see how ipod can be used as a selfhelp or productivity tool.

Listen to good music

Needless to say how music can change our mood and  energize us.

Good instrumental music like Beethoven’s Symphony , Yanni’s albums are good diet for our brain.

Watch good Videos/Movies

Some movies change the way we perceive life.

The Pursuit of Happyness , The Shawshank Redemption and the list goes on.

Read thru Audiobooks

Audiobooks is one the best feature in ipod. You can download your favorite book in audiobook

or mp3 format and listen to it as often as you can , whenever you can, as many times as you can.

i always have my all time favorite “The Monk who sold his Ferrari”.Gets me everytime.

Learn thru Podcasts

Another best feature in ipod.

Subscribe to good podcasts like Personal Growth podcast.

Podcasts can also be used to learn your favorite technology , be it Java, Ruby , Python.

Inspire thru Photos

There are people(like your parents) around who always inspire us.Have their photos, your best snaps if any in sync with your ipod.

ipod Notes

There is one feature that ipod doesnt support , pdf documents.

ipod Notes to rescue , atleast to some extent.

here is the Howto that works in Ubuntu.

Convert pdf documents to text format using pdftotext command

eg: >>pdftotext your.pdf your.txt

Use http://ebookhood.com/ to convert the pdf in text format to ipod notes compatible ebook format.

this may not be in the best readable format , but (e)bookworms can make the best use of it.
